Multi-award winning Italian DJ and producer Agatino Romero collaborated with New York-based powerhouse GATTÜSO on a revamped Italian classic ‘L’Italiano’, released via Virgin Records. This single arrives hot off the heels of Agatino Romero‘s previous single ‘Pedro’, which held the #1 spot on Spotify’s Global Viral chart for a month. It also garnered over 350 million streams, as well as 12 gold award certifications and 5 platinum.
The exceptionally talented pair reimagined Toto Cutugno‘s international pop hit and cultural anthem ‘L’Italiano’, by adding a reinvigorating contemporary twist to it. Toto Cutugno was an Italian pop singer-songwriter and TV presenter, who released the original version in 1983. The single catapulted to the top of the European charts, while many Italians still hold the track dear to their hearts today.

Agatino Romero and GATTÜSO’s version is not merely a remake, but a proud proclamation of Agatino’s cultural heritage and Italian roots. This song has become iconic in every country I have traveled or lived in, and has held a small place in my heart to this day. Now, I am very happy to collaborate with Agatino and bring to the world a dance version of this hit, along with the legendary voice of Toto Cutugno!”
Agatino Romero and GATTÜSO’s version injects the original with a fusion of techno and trance. It features a high-octane beat, airy and expansive synths with a bodacious melody, all while Toto Cutugno‘s iconic vocals steal the show.
