TroyBoi And Daya Dive Into Dark Trap Territory On ‘HUSH’

Trap innovator TroyBoi has teamed up with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Daya for their latest collaboration, ‘HUSH’,  a slow-burning electronic cut that merges cinematic trap production with airy pop vocals. Moody, polished, and emotionally charged, the single showcases both artists stepping into a darker and more atmospheric lane while still delivering something built for main live moments.

The collaboration first caught attention during this year’s Miami Music Week, where TroyBoi previewed the record during the Pardon My French takeover. The unreleased track immediately sparked conversation online after Daya joined him onstage for a surprise live performance, creating one of the standout moments of the week. Now officially released, ‘HUSH’ arrives with growing anticipation and an upcoming music video already on the horizon.

For longtime fans of TroyBoi, the release marks another evolution in the producer’s ever-expanding catalogue. Born Troy Henry, the London-based artist has spent years carving out a sound that resists easy categorisation, blending trap, bass, hip-hop, and global influences drawn from his Indian, Chinese, Portuguese, and Nigerian heritage. Since breaking onto the scene with projects like ‘Left Is Right’ and the globally inspired ROOTZ EP, TroyBoi has become known for unpredictable production choices and bass-heavy records that thrive equally well on festival stages and headphones alike. His career has also included collaborations and remixes tied to artists including Billie Eilish, Rihanna and Justin Bieber, further cementing his place within electronic music’s wider crossover landscape.

Daya brings a contrasting but complementary energy to the release. Since her breakout single ‘Hide Away’ launched her into mainstream success, the singer has steadily evolved beyond traditional pop boundaries, leaning further into electronic and alternative-inspired territory over recent years. Her Grammy-winning collaboration ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ with The Chainsmokers remains one of dance music’s defining crossover hits, while more recent releases, including ‘Dreamin’ alongside Dom Dolla, have highlighted a more mature and introspective direction. On ‘HUSH’, her soft yet commanding vocal delivery adds emotional depth to TroyBoi’s textured production, creating a balance between intimacy and high-impact electronic energy.

Collectively, the two artists deliver a collaboration that feels both unexpected and natural at the same time. Rather than chasing an obvious festival anthem, ‘HUSH’ leans into atmosphere and tension, allowing both TroyBoi and Daya to explore a more refined side of their artistry. With momentum already building following its Miami Music Week debut, the single further highlights the versatility of two artists who continue pushing beyond the boundaries of their respective genres.
