ZHU is back with a bang! He recently announced his fifth studio album BLACK MIDAS, which will drop on 20, March 2026.
The news of the album dropped alongside the album’s title track, which is a dark, club-driven offering fuelled with grit and super-charged energy. A 10 minute short film was released alongside the track on YouTube, which was filmed in Turkey.
The album announcement comes after months of mysterious messaging and teasers on social media by ZHU, which had many fans and industry insiders speculating whether or not an album is on the way. BLACK MIDAS will follow ZHU’s album GRACE which dropped in March 2024, and featured the likes of Chee., BANKS and Sabrina Claudio. 
The BLACK MIDAS title track leans into textures of big room techno, and is supercharged by a low-end beat, hypnotic vocal repetitions from ZHU himself, and gritty synths. The track is ideal for peak-time chaos on the dancefloor and even a moshpit moment or two. The accompanying video is as jarring and brooding as the track itself, however, it holds a profound sense of reflection too. Shot in Istanbul, Turkey the film features ZHU in a fortune teller’s coffee shop where she reads his fortune, and uncovers pivotal moments from his past.
At times, their conversation gets quite heavy and the cinematography becomes eerie, however their exchange is critical as it delves into themes of growth, identity and legacy.
