Croatia’s Cave Romane is fast becoming one of Europe’s most striking examples of how ancient spaces are being reimagined for contemporary electronic music culture. This summer, the 2,000-year-old quarry near Pula will once again shift from historical landmark to open-air club setting, with Carl Cox confirmed to headline a DJ set on 7 August.
Rather than a traditional venue, Cave Romane’s natural stone amphitheatre has increasingly been positioned as an immersive performance space, where scale and setting play as much of a role as the music itself. The 2026 summer programme, curated by BSH Events, continues that evolution, pairing heritage architecture with large-format production and bespoke visual design from Highscream, with Cox’s set scheduled to begin around 10PM local time.
The booking also reflects a wider trend in electronic music programming: the growing appeal of heritage and non-traditional environments as destination experiences for global audiences. Ahead of Cox’s appearance, Belgian techno artist Amelie Lens is set to headline the venue on 3 July, reinforcing Cave Romane’s positioning as a site for high-intensity underground programming rather than standard festival staging. 
For Carl Cox, the performance forms part of a broader summer circuit that bridges Ibiza and mainland Europe. His new residency at [UNVRS], launching on 21 June, sees him return to the island alongside artists including David Guetta, Joseph Capriati, The Martinez Brothers, Richie Hawtin, Skepta, and Honey Dijon, underscoring a season defined by both legacy status and continued reinvention within club culture.
