I absolutely love it when EDM producers branch away from their high-energy sounds and try something new and different. The writing and production of other kinds of music just proves that a talented musician can make great tunes regardless of genre. Swedish producer John Dahlback has certainly proved that with his new project Demure: new album Kill the Silence is a beautiful exploration of downtempo pop songwriting, rather than his usual brand of funky electrohouse. Somewhat reminiscent of the beautiful Zero 7, Kill the Silence is perfect Sunday-evening music, something to unwind with after a long weekend of partying, or just something to play while studying, commuting, or romancing.
