Fedde Le Grand & Nicky Romero – Sparks (Turn Off Your Mind) [The Remixes]

 

Fedde Le Grand and Nicky Romero are two of the biggest names in the business.  These two Dutch stars introduced the world to a killer collaboration when they released “Sparks (Turn Off Your Mind)” off of Flamingo Records last summer, setting the global house community on fire.  The monumental release between Fedde Le Grand and Nicky Romero garnered incredible reception amongst audiences, cementing Fedde Le Grand’s status as a true house icon, and furthering Nicky Romero’s case as the next great superstar.  Now “Sparks (Turn Off Your Mind)” has gotten the full remix treatment in a new release courtesy of Flamingo Recordings, with three talented artists each taking a swing at the track.

Jochen Miller provides the first remix.  This Dutch trance and progressive house DJ takes the original arrangement and puts a bigger spin on it with some massive synth work and an atmospheric lead.  Jochen Miller also provides an incredibly pounding bassline and a driving feel that spurs the entire composition.  Nilson, another Dutch talent, takes a shot at the second entry with his remix.  Nilson is known for combining techy grooves with progressive melodies, and this time is no different.  The Dutch producer begins the track with a deep, rhythmic groove which quickly escalates into full-on big room madness at the drop, where  Nilson provides a different feel from the original synth work with his own frenetic chord progression.  The final remix on the release is the work of Iceash, a Serbian up-and-comer, and is a highly impressive track that shows off the artist’s talents.  An expertly-sequenced synth lead takes us into the main drop, which is one hundred percent dance floor frenzy.  The gigantic bassline gives the track a furious energy, as rising leads and added percussion expand on the groove.  Iceash is definitely a rising star to watch in the future, as he proves with this remix.
