In his latest Instagram announcement Pasquale Rotella, owner and founder of Insomniac Events, has confirmed two things. One, that Electric Daisy Carnival or EDC, will be once again taking place in Texas at a currently undisclosed location and that two, the company is done looking for other locations for the branded event. As of this year and onwards, EDC will be taking place annually at the following locations: Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, Orlando, Puerto Rico and a soon to be named city in Texas.
What this means is that while there might be some occasional events that take on the name EDC, none will repeat themselves annually outside of those 6 locations. In a sense it is understandable since those chosen cities cover a good majority of the more populated areas of the US. It will be interesting to witness how each of those iterations grow individually. Whether they come to imitate the flagship event in Las Vegas or develop an identity of their own, that remains to be seen, but whatever the outcome, I am sure we will enjoy having more Insomniac Events to attend.
UPDATE (02/08): Rumors are spreading that Electric Daisy Carnival Texas edition will take place in Fort Worth! We will update you as we learn more on the matter.
