Datsik – Scum

datsik cover 2I was more than thrilled to see that Datsik recently released a teaser for his upcoming EP on his personal label, Firepower Recordings. Not much is known about the release of this new EP, but I can definitely say that if it sounds anything like “Scum”, we’ve got a massive release coming our way.

This track takes me back to the good old days of Datsik’s filthy, signature dubstep style. I’m not saying that I dislike the music he has been releasing lately, because I love what his sound has come to, but as Datsik states himself, this song is “Some throwback shit for you 09 heads :)”.

This dirty original is filled with all the recipes for a dubstep disaster; Duke Nukem samples, an eerie piano melody, and of course the throbbing wobbles of Datsik that he’s mastered over the years. Be sure to give this one a listen, and check back at Your EDM for the release of Datsik’s upcoming EP in the near future!

If you liked “Scum”, you’ll love some of his dirtiest originals; the ones that take him back to the roots of his dubstep sound.
