That’s right. Dutch kingpin Afrojack remixes Miley Cyrus‘ “Wrecking Ball” with his familiar big room festival sound. He breathes life into the otherwise dreary and boring original and has already gained positive feedback from crowds. I understand minimalistic approaches to music; and I know this song will satisfy some but not others, but I wouldn’t go so far as loving or hating on it.
It is the expected sound we conceptualize with Afrojack. After a huge build and a pitched down vocal sample you are slammed with a recognizable tritone pluck pattern that doesn’t really knock my socks off. Both drops are huge; I’ll admit and perfect for the festival atmosphere, but the second one is much better than the first. Still very minimal, but enjoyable enough to deserve attention. There is no set release date for this track as of yet, but stay tuned.

all this shit sounds the same anyway so who cares
Sounds literally exactly the same as every other bigroom track I’ve ever heard xD
I suppose that when you say “minimal” you mean it in the “few notes repeated over and over again” sense and not the subgenre of minimal electronic music, right?
Wrecking Ball sucks so much the festival people cut him off at the end. Afrojack’s reaction is like WTF bro??
does this have a better dorp? https://soundcloud.com/nimonic/synthesis

Why is everybody hating on bigroom just relax and enjoy the music!
Bigroom get’s too much hate, does a lot of it have a similar structure? Yes, but bare in mind, the exact same was said about Dubstep and Hardstyle and Trance even with the rise of Melbourne Bounce. It wasn’t two years ago for the House genre that people were saying “everything sounds like Levels”. I hate to say it but there isn’t a single sub genre of EDM that hasn’t been accused of sounding sounding repetitive or being basically “all the same”. Yes, all big room drops have heavy bass hits and minimalist synths overtop of the bass, that’s what defines the genre, no they’re not all the exact same, everybody knows theres a difference between Tsunami, Animals and Epic. Yes, all the big name DJ’s are playing bigroom at Festivals because right now it’s “in” and the style is optimized for being played for big crowds. Get over it. If you really hate the tracks that much you can go find other music that you do like.
Some people are hating on this EDM thing going on.
Some might be right, some might be wrong. But gentlemen, one thing is for sure, that first video
feels
so
