Very few tracks have been a ‘love at first listen’ sort of deal to me. But after laying years on the premiere of Jacob Plant‘s massive electro-house tune, Fire on Zane Lowe‘s Radio 1 show, I have been absolutely hooked.
Jacob Plant has been smashing it with his stompy, aggressive sound, which is really interesting considering his latest offering. In celebration of his birthday, Plant released a future house re-imagining of Fire that gives Oliver Heldens and Disclosure a run for their money.
I’ve got to say that it’s a very different direction from his typical big electro sound, but it’s a solid and very well timed departure. It’s a true VIP with very little changed about the bassline itself – which thankfully yields itself wonderfully to the future house/deep house sound. Happy birthday indeed.
