There is some truly amazing bass music coming out of Oakland, CA right now and Sayer is an artist that highlights this trend perfectly. With a psychadelic, tripped out approach to the trap and bass movement, Sayer is blazing a path that is both familiar and uniquely his own.
His latest offering, ‘Grind Mode’, displays the raw talent of this up-and-coming producer. The track gets right down to the nitty gritty, leading off with a dirty, vocoded vocal sample and crescendoing to an absolutely massive breakdown dripping with 808 boom-clap. The crossover between trap and purple here is insane and it lends a grimey, driving element to the track.
