I rarely talk about myself or personal opinions in articles but I think it’s time to point out that as an Atlanta resident and someone that literally lives in the trap, I am getting extremely jealous of the trap music coming out of France. Tomsize & Siméon‘s Unborn Records has been a go-to for the rowdiest 808’s from across the pond and “Sharp,” their latest free release from 8Er$ is a prime example of the talent that France perspires daily.
The track finds it’s swing in the rolling percussion samples and offers a nice contrast from the haunting synthetic brass hits against stinging plucks that define the melody at the drop. This whole soft vs. sharp texture of the track provides a strong foundation for the glitched dance hall-style vocals to rest on and as a whole, this tune is perfectly balanced for the late night turn up.
