Watch Daft Punk Live & Without Helmets In 1995

Listen To The Mixtape That Exposed The US To Daft Punk For The First Time

Since the beginning, Daft Punk was something special. It didn’t take long before they soared out from the underground scene and became the global icons that we know today, but as difficult as it is to imagine, there was indeed a time before they were the robots.

Check out this footage from a 1995 show at the Carros Festival in France, with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo sans hardware and in the flesh. According to the description, this is some of the oldest footage of the duo in action, and the heavy acid house influence and raw mixing is all part of its beauty. What we wouldn’t give to have been there…

To put this in perspective, Bangalter and de Homem-Christo were just 20 and 21 years old, respectively. Wow.
