Many Snapchat users are not down with the new update, which has sparked a petition to bring back the social platform to the way it used to be.
So far, 277,862 of the 300,000 signature goal has been met — with more signatures coming in every moment. Although the purpose of the update was to make Snapchat even easier for its users to navigate, its clear the app missed the mark.
The petition via change.org reads:
With the release of the new Snapchat update, many users have found that it has not made the app easier to use, but has in fact made many features more difficult. There is a general level of annoyance among users and many have decided to use a VPN app to go back to the old Snapchat, as that’s how annoying this new update has become. Many ‘new features’ are useless or defeats the original purposes Snapchat has had for the past years. This petition aims to help convince Snap Inc. to change the app back to the basics, before this new 2018 update.
Whether this will actually change Snapchat’s game plan is unclear. But, it will be difficult to ignore the soon-to-be 300,000+ people who miss the app’s old interface.
