Dance music is becoming more global, more ubiquitous, more profitable than ever before. Once an underground movement, it is now the subject of multiple feature films, dubstep is being mentioned left and right, and it is entirely infiltrating pop music, blurring the lines to an indiscernible degree.
The newest series to bring dance music, or at least underground German techno, to the forefront is BEAT Staffel 1, a new series exclusively on PRIME Video. It follows a promoter named Beat who works for an underground Berlin techno club. He’s recruited by European Secret Services in an attempt to expose a human-organ trafficking ring – and judging by the trailer below, he finds exactly what he’s looking for and more.
The first episode of the series is available to stream for Prime members now. Note: BEAT is entirely in German, so get comfortable with subtitles.
