Uber Ride From Hell As Plastician Driven 128 Miles In Wrong Direction & Uber Isn’t Doing Anything About It

Millions of people depend on Uber every day to get to where they need to be; a small subset of that group also depend on Uber and other ride share apps like Lyft to get them home from the club when they’re inebriated. That’s why it’s so important for these companies to be on point with their service.

Unfortunately, grime/dub producer/DJ Plastician experienced an Uber ride from hell this past weekend when he dozed off in the Uber on the way home from Fulham to Croydon in the UK. Instead, he woke up in Sleaford, 128 miles north of Fulham, in the opposite direction.

What should have been a 45 minute, 11.8 mile trip ended up taking five and a half hours and costing him  £1,453.86.

Plastician has been trying to get the situation sorted privately with Uber for over 72 hours.

Been trying to deal privately and professionally with #Uber on an absolute madness that happened this weekend. It’s becoming so long and draining that I’m edging closer to sharing the mess online and seeing if that gets them to pull their finger out

— Plastician (@Plastician) October 9, 2019

I know if I post this my phone won’t stop for days ringing off about it so I’ll only do it if we can’t sort it privately

— Plastician (@Plastician) October 9, 2019

Finally, it came to the point that he felt the need to air everything on Twitter because Uber was doing nothing to help.

Read below for the full account of this horror story, and be sure to share it, and maybe Uber will actually do something about it.

Spent this week trying to get answers from @uber as to how my driver managed to drive me halfway up the UK while I dozed off thinking I was headed from Fulham to Croydon.

Woken up in the Midlands!

Didn’t hear a peep from my driver. £1453.86. 5 1/2 hrs on surge price x2. pic.twitter.com/10Bn21vQQg

An Uber employee at the call centre confirmed with me on Tuesday that my home address was on the booking when I called it in. They are now denying this yet have no proof that I ever entered an address in Sleaford – a destination I have never been to in my LIFE.

— Plastician (@Plastician) October 10, 2019

So after 4 frustrating days of trying to avoid having to plaster this over socials, a reminder – @Uber take ZERO responsibility for their passenger’s safety. NO indication inside my app of that address being entered by me. Drivers can change destinations on trip.

If u see the journey, driver woke me up in Sleaford – i look out the window and i am not home – told him to take me home and he did. It’s all so dodgy. No way i could have input a sleaford address into my app

— Plastician (@Plastician) October 10, 2019

he did yep. the trip you see was a round trip. I did not exit the car

— Plastician (@Plastician) October 10, 2019

When i woke up in the midlands that’s when we started actually heading to my address. Turned the driver round. I was in the middle of nowhere
