Luma & Blanke Team Up For Emotionally Liberating Single, “Like A Nightmare”

Humility is exceptionally important as an artist. Even when you’re big, ego can prevent you from happening upon incredible opportunities and wonderful people to work with. Blanke, as big as he’s become over the past couple years, steps into a song for the first time as a featured artist and not only is it fantastic, he shows his true character by mentioning “it won’t be the last.”

“Like A Nightmare” from Luma, featuring Blanke, feels, at its core, like a true collaboration. Though Luma is the main artist, Blanke’s influence in the production and songwriting is readily tangible.

“We’ve all loved somebody we shouldn’t,” Luma explains. “‘Like a Nightmare’ is the acceptance we face when we know that the last thing we need is exactly what we want. Written in a single session with Blanke and Riley Thomas during the 2019 Nashville Electronic Writers’ Camp at the Spotify Secret Genius Studio’s, this song has since inspired me to be okay with the fact that sometimes we choose the wrong people. Sometimes we hold on far too long and learn the lesson a little too late. It’s a reminder of our humanity and our fragility as human beings, especially when it comes to love.”
