When we named LUPA one of our Artists To Watch in 2022, she had just released her debut EP on mau5trap a couple months prior. Now, a little over a year later, she’s back with her third EP on the imprint, releasing the first track of the project today, “Born a Beast.”
Staying true to her brand of dark techno, the pounding bassline creates an ominous feeling of suspense and terror, while also bringing tons of energy to the surface.
“I came up with the idea for “Born A Beast” while on a music retreat in the mountains. It got dark early, and once it was night there was zero natural light left. I thought about the unknown things or creatures that could be hiding in the darkness of the forest and wanted to capture that uncanny feeling in a song,” – LUPA
