Skrillex Red Rocks show sells out in minutes, tickets already being resold at a premium

Skrillex just surprise dropped his second album of the year from Madison Square Garden

Tickets for Skrillex at Red Rocks performing a 5-hour set went on sale this morning and sold out within minutes — to no one’s surprise.

Red Rocks has a capacity of nearly 10,000 seats and has hosted Skrillex before in 2014 on his Mothership tour in support of his Recess album. Even then, it wasn’t a struggle to sell out the venue, but it’s unlikely it happened this quickly.

Already, tickets are available for resale on platforms like StubHub and Vivid Seats, ranging anywhere from $250 to $8,000. For reference, I looked at the cheapest flight from Los Angeles to Denver, arriving the day of the show and leaving the day after, and it was only $134. Yes, that was Spirit, but the flight was cheaper than the cost of the ticket if I were to buy re-sale.

Probably the most incredible part of all this is that Skrillex didn’t make any posts on any of his social media feeds about the show. Look at his Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, there is no mention of Red Rocks in the past week. (He may have made a post on his IG story about it, we did not see it if he did.)

He’s just that guy.

Watch his last solo show at Red Rocks below.
