Los Angeles-based producer and DJ yetep, dropped his breathtaking debut album ÿ today via Insomniac’s imprint Lost In Dreams.
The 13 track album sees yetep go back to his roots, while boldly embracing creative freedom and curiosity with the genre-defying offering. Each track on the album was born from creative exploration, instead of a rigid, more defined outline. The music not only reflects yetep’s artistic evolution, but his ability to build worlds and evoke powerful emotion through every track.
The album has been crafted with the utmost intention, and although each track is representative of its own distinct universe, the project is cohesive and carries a profound relatability to it. From the heartbreak and loss of the album’s opening track ‘Same Love Twice’ featuring Rosie Darling, to the raw, peak-time dubstep energy of ‘Take Me down’ featuring Casey Cook, and the heartwarming soundscape of the album’s closing track ‘Paint The Sky’ with Amidy, ÿ is undoubtedly a career defining moment for yetep. 
Originally from Seoul, Korea, the album is an ode to yetep’s love for open format mixes and unrestricted discovery, which is what got him into music in the first place. Sharing more on the concept behind the album, yetep said; “When I first started writing this album, I wanted it to feel open format. I started my music career making mixes on SoundCloud and posting them on Tumblr, just playing whatever I loved with no genre rules at all. That freedom is what made me fall in love with music in the first place. With this album, I wanted to bring that same energy back, the way my live sets feel. It’s all over the place on purpose. It’s genreless, and I’m really proud of that. There’s something on this album for everyone, and I think that’s what makes it special.”
Over the course of his career, yetep has received support from industry heavyweights like Seven Lions, Adventure Club, Dabin while he’s also released music on major labels including Monstercat and Ophelia.
Beyond music, yetep has established Common Unitÿ charitable initiatives, which assist youth experiencing homelessness with aid, while also raising awareness around mental health issues.
