Electronic music luminary Jeremy Olander has announced the release of his debut album When The Rain Falls. The long-awaited album will be released on 13 March, on his own label Vivrant.
Jeremy Olander was the very first artist to sign a multi-release deal on Eric Prydz’ label Pryda Friends, and has since released music on pioneering labels like Last Night On Earth, Drumcode, Watergate Records, Anjunadeep as well as Diynamic. He has also crafted official remixes for the likes of Nils Hoffmann, Tove Lo and Digitalism.
The album’s lead single ‘Apollo’ will be released on Friday, 6 February and sets a profound foundation for the album. The evocative track is a striking collaboration with electronic Swedish duo Moontalk (Edwin Lindberg and Lukas Hällgren), who have received acclaim from the likes of Jamie Jones and Mau P to name a few.
‘Apollo’ is testament to Jeremy’s refined and intentional creative direction which is highly atmospheric, cinematic and reflects a powerful moment of transition for Jeremy and his career. ‘Apollo’ brilliantly pairs Jeremy’s melodic capabilities with Moontalk’s groove-laden house sound, which shifts the track from progressive house into more experimental territory. The dynamic between Moontalk and Jeremy feels both effortless and precise. Their creative chemistry is palpable throughout, as there’s a strong sense that nothing has been forced, instead, it’s a connection forged through emotional depth and passion, which resulted in a track that speaks to the emotional core of the listener while blurring the lines between genre.
His forthcoming album, When The Rain Falls, was influenced by significant life changes such as sobriety and becoming a father. This has inspired Jeremy to create an album that’s his most deliberate and personal body of work to date, while it also mirrors pivotal themes like introspection, growth, identity, and renewed purpose. Sharing more on the album, Jeremy said; “This album means a lot to me beyond the music itself. It’s a closing and an opening. The end of the first chapter of my career and my life, and the beginning of the next. I started it at a time when I was stuck in a destructive headspace, and I finished it piece by piece as things improved and I made some necessary changes. It’s very personal, so putting it out there feels both scary and incredibly exciting.”
Jeremy Olander is also gearing up for an album tour, which kicks off on 13 March at Bauhaus, in Austin, Texas. The tour will take place across four continents, as it will make stops in Australia, Canada, USA, the UK, South Korea and Sweden. Secure your tickets for the tour here, pre-save ‘Apollo’ here
