Ultra has made another groundbreaking move. The festival announced that it will host the first ever zero-emission battery powered stage at a major US festival. The RESISTANCE Cove Stage will run on Showpower’s SmartGrid™ battery system which will produce no on site emissions.
The initiative is powered by Reverb.org, an NPO dedicated to creating an environmentally sustainable music industry, along with the Decarbonization Project, Showpower and CES Power.
In addition to this, Ultra’s Mission: Home sustainability program will return for the sixth year. Mission: Home features 65 individual initiatives which are aimed at protecting the environment. So far, the project has diverted nearly 400 000 pounds of waste, donated 84 000 pounds of food, beverages and supplies to Ultra’s community and educated 8.2 million people. The initiatives include picking up litter in association with Clean Vibes, reusable cups will be piloted at the Red Bull bar and the festival will expand its composting program.
Ultra takes place from 27 – 29 March at the Bayfront Park in Miami. The lineup features a spectacular variety of sounds from the likes of Carl Cox, Hardwell, Adam Beyer B2B Joseph Capriati, Ray Volpe B2B Sullivan King, ILLENIUM, Miss Monique, Amelie Lens B2B Sara Landry and many more!
