As conversations around phone use at live events continue to grow, Solomun is once again encouraging clubbers to put down their devices and immerse themselves in the moment. The DJ and producer recently launched the 2026 season of his long-running Solomun+1 residency at Pacha Ibiza, bringing back a tradition that has become synonymous with the event over the past decade.
Since 2017, attendees arriving at the residency have been greeted with a printed message encouraging them to limit filming during the night. Rather than enforcing a strict ban, the initiative serves as a reminder to prioritise the shared experience of the dancefloor over capturing content for social media. Marking the residency’s return, Solomun reiterated the sentiment online, emphasising the value of fully engaging with the music and atmosphere rather than viewing the night through a screen.
His approach aligns with a wider cultural shift in nightlife, where phone-free experiences are steadily moving into the mainstream. Growing demand for more immersive events has prompted clubs and promoters to rethink how audiences engage on the dancefloor, prioritising presence over recording. The movement has already been adopted by key venues such as Berghain and fabric, with Ibiza’s club culture also beginning to reflect the same philosophy. 
Now entering its twelfth year at Pacha, Solomun+1 remains one of the island’s most established residencies. The 2026 edition will run every Sunday from May 31 through October 4, continuing a format that has become a cornerstone of Ibiza’s summer calendar while reinforcing Solomun’s long-standing belief that the best memories are often the ones that aren’t recorded.
