In electronic music, “VIP” stands for more than “very important person.” It also denotes a “variation in production,” used for when a producer essentially remixes their own track, or at least provides a different interpretation of it. A lot of times, VIPs end up being minor edits – in fortunate cases, we get what sounds like an entirely new track, but it still has that original feel.
Such is the case with the VIP for “Lean On” that Major Lazer just teased on their Facebook page. Coupled with some added hype from Bunji Garlin’s “Jungle Bae,” the VIP takes the soft and vibey original and turns it into a hard house banger. This is a completely different side to the original, and we seriously can’t get enough.
No word yet on when exactly this will be released, but we’re on the edge of our seats already.
