After the success of Jack Ü and Major Lazer in 2015, it’s no surprise that their sounds would be emulated. Some manage to hit some sort of middle ground in imitation; for others, attempts just simply fall flat. For Sean Will & 40cobras, though, they hit the nail square on the head.
You’ll find that many of the same elements in tracks like “Where Are Ü Now” or “Lean On” are present in “Give Me A Reason” – sultry sweet female vocals with just a twinge of reggae, courtesy of Sessi, a high-pitched vocal synth in the drop, bouncy rhythm, etc. What sets Sean Will’s production apart is a feeling of … authenticity.
With the right amount of exposure and push, “Give Me A Reason” has a real chance of being the next big song of 2016.
