Cassius – Sound Of Violence (The Frederik Bootleg) [Free Download]

Maybe you haven’t heard of The Frederik. He is the artist formerly known as Frederik Olufsen, an electro house maestro from Denmark who had several notable releases on such labels as Big Fish Recordings, Plasma.Digital, and Royal Fetish Recordings (Frederik’s own label, which he has run since 2009). Frederik Olufsen was recently signed to legendary label mau5trap and decided to unveil a new alias to go along with his newer spin on his already-gigantic electro sound. The result is The Frederik, a new act that has been kept under wraps recently. He has been touring, and most recently co-headlined with Wolfgang Gartner and Tommy Trash at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London earlier this September.

In terms of productions, though, there hasn’t been much news. A low-res version of one of his new tracks, Delirium, leaked to YouTube a few months ago, but other than that not much was heard from The Frederik. Until now. This week, The Frederik unveiled his bootleg of Cassius‘ legendary hit Sound of Violence, and the result is one hundred percent gritty electro. Frederik’s expert synth work is on display, blending his spacious chords with the iconic vocals of the original track into one massive framework. Frederik’s incredible bass programming is also heard, especially during the verses: one part groovy, one part glitchy, and all with enough rumble to shake up any dance floor. The entire track is driven by the massive feel that Frederik provides through his synth and bass work, and is definitely a peak timer. All in all, this is a huge track that showcases Mr. Frederik’s production talents in one seamless arrangement.

Other than this bootleg and a YouTube leak or two, not many tracks by The Frederik have been heard yet. The release date for The Frederik’s EP debut on mau5trap is still unknown, but one thing is certain. If his future releases sound anything like what he has previewed, then we are in for a treat when the Danish dynamo decides to unveil his latest works.
