With a few huge releases under his belt in the past few months, Ummet Ozcan shows no signs of letting his momentum slow. This time around it’s an ode to the place DJs see more often than almost anything else, “Airport.” Produced by himself and Belgium’s DJ Ghost, this one drops into intense saw-laden stabs. What caught my ear was one production technique we haven’t seen in a major release since “Hurricane” by Daddy’s Groove. The technique I speak of is the brief moment that reoccurs throughout the drops where the notes quickly arpeggiate up the scale and return to their starting position. While it has been done recently, it is still fresh enough to not hold it against this impressive track. All in all, “Airport” is sure to send chills down spines, put smiles on faces and satisfy even the most voracious dance floor.
