Tim Bergling, commonly known as Avicii, has been a main target for criticism but, the Swedish DJ has seen a lot of recent success.  His singles “Wake Me Up” and “You Make Me” have both been climbing up the Billboard Top 100 charts even with millions of fans being apprehensive about his new direction in music.  Avicii decided to sit down and talk with Country Music Television Edge about the country influence on his new album, True.  In the interview Avicii stated:

“Honestly, I didn’t have a specific audience in mind. I had no boundaries when making this album. I did all of the tracks for myself more than anything, and I really believed in my own judgment. I’ve always been open to listening to everything, and you can see that in my album. That’s why I called the album True because everything happened so fluently, and there was never a set plan behind anything. I didn’t plan to mix genres, but it’s what I liked, what sounded right, so I went for it.”

Avicii’s album is set to be released September 17th and it should be interesting to see how fans react to the mix between the two very different genres.
