It’s hard to come up with words to describe just how gnarly and unprecedented Kai Wachi‘s new EP is. Cadaverous, the two song project released through Kannibalen Records, will easily be one of the most provocative musical pieces you have heard in your life. With Kai, you best bet you are getting into some heavy bass, but this time he takes things to a whole other dimension that some people just flat out aren’t gonna be able to handle. One thing is for sure, Cadaverous is not for the faint of heart.
In kicking things off with the title track, Kai sets things in motion with a mystifying introduction that features some highly peculiar instrumentation. As always, finely tuned acoustic instruments find their way into his productions, but what he chose to do with “Cadaverous” is just preposterously epic. After the drop, ugh; Kai Wachi sound design is the best, let’s face it. Even more synthetic samples crafted by his hands can be found in “O N E” which completes the second half of the EP. More hybrid genius is what you should expect for that one. It comes on a little cleaner than the first, but that doesn’t mean much since Kai basks in filthy bass.
