The Future of DJing by Native Instruments

Today Native Instruments has unveiled a teaser video for their upcoming Traktor controller, the Kontrol S8. However, the internet has already discovered what the product looks like via leaked images off a now-taken-down Amazon store page. The new controller sees a removal of jog wheels and an addition of touch strips. There seems to be a focus on the remix decks and more creative DJing with this new controller. Quite possibly the most interesting thing by far is the addition of 2 built-in screens on the controller that if I’m understanding Native Instruments correctly, is supposed to make the laptop something you put off to the side while you mix.

This controller certainly seems fascinating and it has my curiosity piqued, but I’m not sure how I feel about the lack of jog wheels or such a heavy focus on live remixing.
