After the deaths at Electric Zoo 2013, one New York man has plead guilty to distributing narcotics in a prosecution following the festival. The investigation began after the two deaths were deemed “drug related” and has now ended up with it’s first prosecution. The prosecuted man, 24-year-old Patrick Morgan, plead guilty this last Thursday to one count of distributing narcotics.
Patrick Morgan’s drugs can be traced to the death of 23-year-old Jeffrey Russ, one of the concert attendee’s who suddenly collapsed from overdose at the festival. Authorities claim that Patrick Morgan had previously sold pills at festivals and this time, it was a batch he sold which was then redistributed to friends.
With sentencing scheduled for March 13th 2015, prosecutors have said the defendant will spend less then a year in jail for a crime that’s fit for a 20 year sentence.
