Your EDM Premiere: Allertz – Perfect Day [+ Interview]

I think it’s safe to say that festival season is in full swing, making this the appropriate time to start blasting uplifting, main stage ready tracks. Up-and-coming Swedish producer Allertz has answered the call with his newest single, “Perfect Day”.

The piano intro is very reminiscent of a sunrise, with appropriate lyrics to match. The song’s euphoric melody and comforting male vocals instantly fill your body with warmth as it progresses into a drop fit for a festival fireworks show.

The single will be released tomorrow, and is available for pre-order on iTunes SE. Check out the track below, as well as our short interview with Allertz.

What was your earliest experience with electronic music?

I think it was in my early years in high school when Swedish House Mafia started to get big. To get through math class, I used to listen to electronic music. I remember one time I was listening to a remix with the acapella “Jack had a groove”, and got so stoked and ended up not doing a single task. It was then I decided that music was going to be a big part of my life!

What got you into producing?

It started around three/four years ago, after I ended high school. To get into the business I started to take the train to Stockholm. I went around to all the nightclubs to get to know people and I saw how all DJ’s were producing their own music. I started a course on SAE, moved to Stockholm and got my first studio.

Who or what do you draw inspiration from?

Depends on my mood. I’m kind of an all genre kind of guy. On my inspiration list is everything from rock, pop and classical music and everything in-between. Sometimes I go to the movies just to get good music from there. Inspiration for my music is something I get from everything, not only from EDM.

What are some of your favorite tracks at the moment, electronic or not?

‘Strobe’ by Deadmau5 is always a great track to get me going, because it’s got a long perfectly built intro, and the drop really gets my adrenaline pumping.

‘It takes a fool to remain the same’ by The Ark. It’s an old Swedish band and an old song, but it keeps me happy and it’s really good!

Are there any artists you’re interested in collaborating with?

It’s always interesting to work with other artists! I like to mix personality into my songs. At the moment I really like the stuff Alesso is releasing – and you can always wish, haha!

What/where is your dream festival or venue to play at?

Think the biggest rave party ever at “The Royal Hall”. Otherwise I would absolutely love to play at Coachella, Tomorrowland, Ultra etc. I’ve heard Burning Man is supposed to be crazy too!

What is a normal day like for you when you aren’t holed up in the studio?

Haha, I’m always in the studio! When I have days off it’s usually for traveling, getting non-studio related stuff done, music videos etc. Often when I have a “rest my ears day”, I end up playing music on my new Vinyl player, and the neighbors come knocking at my door complaining – so I go to the studio anyway. And then it counts as a studio day I suppose!
