And you thought dance music couldn’t get any funkier…
With acts like Griz, Gramatik, Pretty Lights, and Kill Paris rocking that funkadelic sound, the market was very nearly cornered. That is, until Pierce Fulton and Ansolo got together to form Shirts & Skins. Their first original track, “Then Came You,” is like all of the aforementioned artists put together plus The Bee Gees. (A lot of the Soundcloud comments also make comparisons to Daft Punk and Duck Sauce, which I can see.)
Keyboards at just the right notes, bass guitar at just the right amount of funk, this track is definitely the pinnacle of a sound. That being said, I’m really excited to see where Pierce Fulton and Ansolo can go from here.
