Ever walk into the grocery and feel overwhelmed by the monotony? It’s enough to make you start hearing things, maybe start singing along to that voice in your head, or bust out some moves on isle five. Michel Cleis and Klement Bonelli know the struggle, and they’ve done the world a public service with “Marvinello.”
Courtesy of director Mauro Russo, “Marvinello” now has a music video fit for the funk of its slinking marimbas. Opening the clip, we see a balding chap getting nagged in line become stricken by an infectious house tune plucked straight from the vines of tropicalia. And as Martin Wilson’s vocals echo the Marvin Gaye classic, we’re met with a beautifully juxtaposed bassline to throw the man over the edge. Gradually, the insanity picks its way through the unsuspecting shoppers, turning the once abysmal scene into a charging party. I won’t spoil the ending, but this video makes us question whether grocer-raves should be a thing…
