Time Warp, a festival that originated in Germany, has since expanded to various other locations including New York and the Netherlands. Its fourth expansion in Argentina was set to go on this weekend, featuring performances from Maceo Plex, Jamie Jones, Dixon and more.
Unfortunately, reports are now coming in that five people have died on the first day of the event. Two people in their 20s died at the event and three others died either in an ambulance or at a hospital.
Dr Alberto Crescenti, who heads the emergency medical system for the Argentine capital, is already looking toward drugs as the likely cause of death. “We’ll see what substances they took,” he said.
Others more taken to the hospital are still in comas, according to officials.
One of the attendees of the event complained of cramped spaces and excessive heat, even going so far as to state that they couldn’t breathe.
The second night of the event has been cancelled. No official statement from Time Warp has yet been made.
