Getter has transformed into his alter-ego Terror Reid — and it’s pretty fucking awesome!
The ballsy Shred Collective track, “Uppercuts” demands attention from the get go and will keep you hooked whether you want to be or not. Terror Reid takes a move from Malaa‘s playbook by sporting a white ski mask, and a move from Getter’s playbook by delivering something so ridiculous that it’s ridiculously good.
Terror Reid came into our lives today with no real warning, just this hilarious tweet from Getter:
im not gonna say i am @terrorreid
but all i know is i chugged a whole thing of windex and blacked out
when i woke up, "uppercuts" was done— G (@GetterOfficial) April 3, 2017
Fans who have been paying attention, totally saw this coming as Terror Reid social accounts have been mildly active since February and Nick Colletti x Terror Reid even performed at DiskoLab during Miami Music Week.
Back to the song… I don’t want to compare Terror Reid to Eminem, because something about that seems sinful. But, it’s hard to not make that connection with the cunning, slightly psychotic bars, both rappers’ articulation of the word “gluteus,” and remarks on things like grandma’s tits, pigs on coke, and “slam dunkin'” in your chicks guts (whatever that means). Not to mention the ridiculously sick beat, produced by Getter himself — it’s gritty, old school hip hop that sounds like something B-Rabbit would win a rap battle over in 8 Mile.
“Uppercuts” will be released on Getter’s own Shred Collective this Friday, April 7, but do yourself a favor and stream it now. And, I’ll let Terror Reid sum this up this article himself:
“Just sit back, relax, and pay attention… The masked maniac is back and stole your grandfather’s whole pension.”
