Your EDM Premiere: Paying Homage to Ikon – “Murderer”

Just over a year ago, drum and bass lost one of its promising young stars in Joe Wells, aka DJ Ikon. Wells was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident near Southampton in the UK, and the entire jungle and drum and bass community turned out to pay tribute at the time in a memorial event which saw the likes of DJ Hazard, Nicky Blackmarket, Ecksman and MC Skibadee performing for their fallen friend and collaborator.

In the year since the tragic loss of DJ Ikon, Young Guns Records and Cygnus Music have been working behind the scenes to put together an EP of music honoring the life of this promising producer. The Ikon:ik EP Part 1 will release on August 24 and contains five posthumous tracks by Ikon, all of which he was working on at the time of his passing. His friends and collaborators have mixed and mastered the tracks in a way they hope he would have wanted, and the release of this first EP in a series has been much anticipated by the drum and bass community.

Your EDM is proud to premiere the “Murderer” Limited Remix off this cherished EP, a dub-and-ragga heavy mix of the Ikon classic.

“Murderer” has been pre-released on Juno Download with the full release of the Ikon:ik EP due out on Young Guns on August 24.
