Mike Shinoda Confirms News Of Chester Bennington’s Death

News spread this morning of the suicide of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington.

He was found hanged in his home in Los Angeles this Thursday morning sometime before 9am. The internet, predictably, was skeptical – if not because the first source was TMZ, then because we all just didn’t want it to be true.

Fellow Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda has officially confirmed the news via Twitter, writing, “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”

Linkin Park was founded in 1996 and put out their debut LP Hybrid Theory in 2000. The album was certified diamond by the RIAA in 2005.

Linkin Park just released a new album two months ago, One More Light. A new music video was released this morning around the time that Bennington’s body was discovered.
