A State Of Trance has been counting down its top 50 tunes of the year all day, and this afternoon, the #1 track was bestowed upon Gareth Emery & Standerwick’s “Saving Light” featuring HALIENE.

It’s possible that this is the first time a non-trance label has won the honors of Tune Of The Year from ASOT, the weekly radio show founded by Armin van Buuren in 2001.
“Saving Light” was released on Monstercat this past January with a music video focuses on anti-bullying, pro-equality efforts with the charity Ditch the Label.
