Relive Skrillex’s Iconic Bangarang Which Came Out 6 Years Ago

Six years ago (and one day), Skrillex released one of the most iconic dubstep records of all-time in “Bangarang.” While the entire Bangarang EP dropped the day before on December 23rd, 2011 exclusively on Beatport, the single was technically available the day after on the 24th on YouTube while the rest of the package hit stores on the 27th.

The EP, and single, came as a superb follow-up to Skrillex’s ground-breaking debut Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP which really signaled the start of the dubstep era. The Bangarang EP was also Skrillex’s first ever release on his OWSLA imprint, and eighth overall, in conjunction with Big Beat/Atlantic – a partnership that has lasted till this day.

This was truly one of the most memorable Christmas gifts in EDM history from one of the genre’s all-time greats. Happy (late) birthday once again to “Bangarang!”
