Facebook isn’t introducing a “dislike” button, but pretty much the next best thing…
In hopes of promoting more meaningful interactions, Facebook is officially testing out a “downvote” button. It’s a similar system to what Reddit thrives off, meant to determine which comments are favorable, or not so much.
“We are not testing a dislike button. We are exploring a feature for people to give us feedback about comments on public page posts,” Facebook confirms in a statement to TechCrunch. This is running for a small set of people in the U.S. only.”
Perhaps you’ve seen it already… It looks like this…
The “downvote” button is meant to hide offensive, misleading, off topic, or fake news comments. So, don’t go on a downvoting bender just because there are certain comments you don’t personally agree with.
Again, this is not a “dislike” button.
