Zedd is one of those artists that can effortlessly cross over from EDM to the mainstream — and it only took a couple of months for his latest single to completely take over!
“The Middle” with Grey and Maren Morris has all the makings for a radio hit, so it’s no surprise the single finds itself at #1 on the radio spins chart. The song rocks catchy lyrics, an addictive melody, and an overall fun, poppy nature. While some would say Zedd played it safe with this one, a little too similar to his past hit “Stay,” others might say he has his hit-making recipe down to a science.

As for the collaboration, “The Middle” was a perfect match from the start. “It was super fun working with Maren because she is clearly an amazing singer and very talented musician,” Zedd explains. “And, I always love working with Grey because we push ourselves to make the best music possible and the end result is incredible.”
Maren adds, “the sound is reflective of my many influences as an artist – a little bit country, little pop, little R&B, relatable, emotional and catchy as hell.” One key word in there, “relatable,” is what usually makes for a sure radio hit.
