After last month’s strange “Rockstar” remix was uploaded by Proximity and Trap Nation, originally thought to be a Tiësto and VAVO remix but ending up as just VAVO, Tiesto has now announced he has a collaboration with Dzeko, Preme, and Post Malone out this Friday. But wait, doesn’t Post Malone already have a track called “Jackie Chan,” and isn’t it with Preme? Yes, and that’s where things get murky.
Post Malone’s verse is pulled from a previously released tune by Preme called “Jackie Chan,” so this is somewhat of a ‘remix’; however, this is officially billed as a Tiesto & Dzeko production featuring Post Malone. In effect, the production is brand new without any stems from Post & Preme’s original, and the vocals are slotted into it.
The remix is poppy and perfect for the summer, and Post’s vocals actually manage to work pretty brilliantly, all things considered. “Jackie Chan” is out tomorrow but you can listen to the brief teaser from Tiësto below.
