At the height of his hype, just months before the release of 808s & Heartbreak, Kanye West featured on Estelle’s song “American Boy,” produced by will.i.am, and created an absolute hit. Now, 11 years later, a new star by the name of Brooks is taking the classic and reimagining it for the club in modern day.
It starts off as the original does, with Kanye’s crisp vocals spitting bars over a slightly augmented production. A false drop calling back to the original melody comes in with Estelle’s vocals and soon gives way to Brooks’ effervescent style that packs way more punch.
Make no mistake, this is an epic remix made for main stages and it will have everyone singing and dancing no problem.
