Controversy surrounds Seattle-based record label and talent management agency Bass Therapy and its owner Jacob Wells aka Jay Wells (also known as 1/2 of DJ duo SoSleepyy), as allegations of sexual assault have surfaced.
In the post below, a woman named Rachel aka Rose Aye recalls a time about two years ago when a “clearly really fucked up” Wells forcibly kissed her despite her desperate pleas for him to stop. He persisted, according to Rachel, even came back for a second time and eventually left her in a room alone and crying.
In the moment she felt “hopeless,” and later felt “ashamed, crazy, gaslighted,” which kept her from speaking out sooner. She says her post isn’t intended to “take him down” or “cancel” him, but rather let people know what happened.
Rachel gives a “trigger warning” before leading into her story…

Wells has since responded, apologizing to Rachel “and anyone else that this may have made uncomfortable.”
He admits in the post below that when Bass Therapy first started blowing up that he was “too forward” in his approach towards women. However, he denies forcing himself onto Rachel in this particular instance.
Wells says he would never use his “fame” to sexually assault anyone. Read on below…

Unfortunately, we’ve heard too much of these things happening within the EDM community in recent years. Let this be a reminder to treat others with respect and take care of each other.
Above all else, remember consent is sexy and 100% necessary.
