Dutch trance legend Ferry Corsten continues to push the boundaries in 2020. His latest single “I Don’t Need You” with We Are Loud sees Ferry stepping away from that 133 BPM trance for a tune that’s both darker and more brooding, but, also, more radio friendly at the same time. “I Don’t Need You” also marks the end of one era and the beginning of a new one. Say farewell to Corsten’s Countdown, which just celebrated its 700th episode. Say hello to “Resonation Radio” and a broader spectrum of music from Ferry Corsten.
Ferry recently premiered “I Don’t Need You” on the final episode of Corsten’s Countdown as an ID. After much speculation, it can now be revealed that Ferry himself is behind the tune. Fans who have been following Ferry over the past couple of years shouldn’t be surprised to see the Dutch producer explore exciting new territory. The music recalls some of Ferry’s scoring and soundtrack work he’s done, whilst incorporating a fresh male vocal. “I Don’t Need You” is really about a moment of clarity’ this dude seems to have exhausted all of his options until his epiphany: “I Don’t Need You” after all.
