Renowned as the “Queen of Electro,” LUCIANA has crafted a fierce and unapologetic presence in the global dance scene. Her signature punk-edged vocals and fearless energy has been part of some of the biggest anthems of the last two decades, such as Hardwell’s ‘Arcadia’, Bodyrox’s ‘Yeah Yeah’ and most recently ‘HUSTLR’ by Joel Fletcher and Will Sparks.
Beyond her formidable sound, LUCIANA’s influence runs deep with multiple tracks featured on Billboard’s Dance Charts and her ability to seamlessly bridge underground club culture with mainstream pop. In addition to being a vocalist she’s also a producer and DJ who has performed at some of the biggest festivals in the world. With more than a decade of experience, LUCIANA continues to demolish boundaries while inspiring a new generation of electronic artists to embrace authenticity and unfiltered boldness.
In our exclusive interview with LUCIANA, she talks about her DJ journey, industry challenges, ‘I Like That’ going viral on TikTok and she shares a phenomenal 1 hour mix below! 
You started out as a vocalist but you DJ now too. What inspired that transition for you and how has the journey been so far?
It actually started in the most unexpected way. I was asked to DJ in front of 10,000 people in Mexico, and when they asked if I’d played before, I said, “Of course—I used to DJ in London.” Total lie at the time! I went home, called a friend who’s a well-known DJ in West Hollywood, and basically said, “Teach me everything.” Three months of intense practice, lots of tears, and by the time I got to that show, it felt right. I’ve had my own records played on dancefloors around the world that it just made sense, the natural next step. Now I love blending my vocals into my sets and it brings my journey full circle—I’m not just performing songs I’ve written; I’m living them with the crowd.
Your sound and brand is bold, unapologetic, and colorful. What emotions or energy do you aim to channel every time you step into the booth or perform live?
For me, it’s all about pure, unapologetic energy. No matter the size of the crowd, I give everything I’ve got in every cell of my being. I want people to feel it, not just hear it. When the crowd locks in, that spark—the shared high, the dopamine hit—that’s what we live for. I’ve always been a bit of a punk at heart, so I bring that rawness into every set. The connection is everything. When it clicks, nothing else matters.
You’ve worked with Tiësto, Hardwell, and KSHMR, who all have distinct sonic identities. How do you adapt your voice or energy to fit theirs while staying true to yourself?
I’m a bit of a chameleon, but I never lose my stripes. Each of these producers has a unique sonic fingerprint, so I tune into their world while leaving my own mark. My voice carries an attitude, and I can shape-shift for the vibe, but it’s always unmistakably me.
Take us through your songwriting process. When you write vocals, do you start from melody, lyric, or a specific vibe?
I have a totally punk approach. I call it the Bowie cut-and-paste method. Back in the day, I’d write words and phrases, chop them up, stick them together with tape, and see what stories emerged. There’s magic in the randomness—the accidents, the mess, the madness somehow landing in exactly the right place. That’s where the best ideas come from.
The EDM scene has evolved quite a bit since you first started. What shifts have you found the most exciting or challenging?
The freedom now is incredible. When I started, the industry felt like a boys’ club. Today, women, LGBTQ+ artists, and faceless creators are rewriting the rules—and I’m here for all of it. The challenge is cutting through the noise. Everyone’s shouting online, so knowing who you are and staying authentic has become the ultimate flex.
The 2010 hit ‘I Like That’ recently went viral on TikTok. How does it feel to know your music still resonates globally more than a decade later?
It’s surreal! Seeing new generations dancing to it like it just dropped is wild. It’s like the track got a second life, independent of me. I love that it still connects—it’s proof that confidence and a good hook never go out of style. I LIKE THAT!

On social media, you shared a post titled “5 Reasons To Never Give Up on Music.” If you could pick just one which has helped you the most, which would you pick and why?
“Because the magic might be right around the corner.” You never know which song, which moment, or which random post will change everything. I’ve had times where nothing seemed to move—and then, boom—a track from 2010 goes viral. You just have to keep your heart open, your boots on the ground… and keep going!
If you weren’t in the music industry, what would you be doing?
Throwing paint and smoking cigarettes on a European island, I reckon! Maybe that’s the long-term goal. These days, I’m building a club centered on empowerment and confidence in business—especially for creatives. For years, I never saw myself as a “businesswoman.” Then it clicked: if I wanted real freedom, I needed to understand how it all worked behind the scenes. Now, I help others—artists and dreamers—build their own empires without losing their creativity. You can be the art and the empire. That’s the new power move.
Your voice has soundtracked unforgettable moments on dancefloors worldwide. What do you hope your legacy in dance music will be?
Legacy isn’t fame—it’s freedom echoed through other people’s stories. The best moments are hearing how a track made someone feel or where they were when they first heard it. If my music gives anyone permission to be loud, weird, sexy, or unapologetically themselves—that’s everything. I’m not after perfection; I’m after connection. That’s the legacy I want.
What’s on the horizon for the Queen of EDM? What does the rest of 2025 hold, and what’s in the pipeline for 2026?
I’ve got some amazing new music coming with Deorro, Will Sparks, Moguai, and Blasterjaxx, plus a solo track I’m really excited about called ’I Don’t Give A F**K’—a liberation anthem for all the wild hearts.
