Brazilian DJ and producer Alok performed to an estimated 2.5 million people on New Year’s Eve. The show, which took place in Rio de Janeiro, broke records and has been certified by the Guinness World Records as the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in the world.
The event took place at Copacabana Réveillon and featured 13 stages, along with a 12-minute fireworks display launched from 19 barges, and a coordinated drone show involving 1,200 drones. Alok delivered an hour long DJ set to the historic crowd, while the lineup also included legendary Brazilian singer-songwriter Gilberto Gil and pop and R&B artist Iza.
