Numerous international promoters have cancelled upcoming performances by hard techno artists Shlømo, Basswell, CARV and Odymel.
This follows multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and assault, which were made public on Instagram by a former Steer Management agent, which is the agency that managed all four artists.
The hard techno scene has been rattled by these allegations, with many people and artists sharing their opinions and support for those who have come forward with their experiences with these artists. Techno DJ SPFDJ shared a post with the caption “think you’re one of ”the good guys”? prove it 🙃”. In the post she shares her opinion on the matter, and points out the excruciating misogyny and bias in the industry towards women. 
Additionally, several event organisers have started pulling these men from scheduled lineups. Indian promoter Subvolt was among the first to act and cancelled Shlømo’s 21 February show in Mumbai, with France’s Le Bon Air soon following suit. Dutch promoter VERKNIPT announced that Shlømo, Basswell and CARV would no longer appear at its upcoming events, while Germany’s Open Beatz Festival removed Shlømo and Basswell from its lineup. Additional cancellations include Basswell’s scheduled appearances at OST in Berlin and Under Division in São Paulo. Odymel’s slot at Australia’s Pitch Music & Arts has also been cancelled. Other artists from the agency who have also been accused of sexual misconduct include Fantasm and Hades.
In a statement shared on social media, Steer Management confirmed that it had removed a group of artists from its roster while the accusations are being addressed. However, the statement does not directly name these artists.
