Tomorrowland is bringing its signature production beyond the festival gates with the launch of ZONE 5, a new event concept that combines a social 5K run with an immersive electronic music experience. Created in partnership with Lucky Stride, the inaugural edition will take over Antwerp on August 29, inviting participants to transition directly from the finish line into a dedicated rave arena.
Unlike a traditional road race, ZONE 5 is designed around participation rather than competition. Runners can choose a pace group that suits their fitness level before making their way into a full-scale Tomorrowland production featuring professional sound, lighting and a two-hour DJ showcase. The debut lineup includes Emilija b2b Alycia Bezgo and Dimitri Vegas, with organisers encouraging runners of all abilities to take part.
The concept draws inspiration from the highest heart-rate training zone, where physical intensity peaks before recovery begins. Rather than slowing participants down after completing the 5K, Tomorrowland is flipping that idea on its head by extending the adrenaline rush through music, positioning the finish area as the beginning of the experience rather than the end.
ZONE 5 also reflects a wider shift toward wellness-focused experiences within electronic music culture, where community runs, fitness activations and alcohol-free events continue to gain momentum alongside traditional festivals. Pre-registration for the Antwerp debut is now open, with organisers already signalling ambitions to expand the format to additional cities in the future.
